The Full Service Community Network (FSCN) is a project funded by the Department of Education’s (DE) ‘ Tackling Educational Disadvantage’ Team. We provide a range of educational support services for children, young people, families, schools and the wider community of Upper Springfield and Greater Falls areas with the core aim of working in partnership with schools to help raise standards in addressing low and under achievement. Our schools have become increasingly culturally and linguistically diverse over the last 15 years, and hearing different languages spoken along school corridors and on playgrounds is our new ‘normal’. “The sights, sounds and stories of every country are now part of our communities.” (Sharples, 2021, Teaching EAL, p. 1, Multilingual Matters ).
